MDR Demo Build
Two test cases sitting in separate ZPA zones on the demo unit. Each zone holds independently until the path downstream clears.
Not everyone who reaches out to us knows what MDR is. That is not a problem. Motor driven roller conveyor is one of those technologies that is easier to understand once you have seen it move product in front of you than it is to explain in a spec sheet or a sales call.
A customer came to us exploring options for their facility. They were interested in what MDR could do but had no real reference point for how zero-pressure accumulation works in practice. Rather than walk them through it on paper, we built them a working demo unit they could evaluate on their own floor, on their own timeline, with their own product.
What we built
Conveyor Type
MDR — Motor Driven Roller
Zones
Two zones of ZPA accumulation
Power
Standard 120V outlet
Controls
ConveyLinx-AI2 MDR drive cards
Sensing
Photoeye zone detection
Integration
Allen-Bradley or Siemens compatible
The unit is self-contained and simple to run. Plug it into a standard 120V outlet, put product on it, and watch zero-pressure accumulation do its thing. No special power infrastructure, no controls cabinet, no electrician required. The ConveyLinx-AI2 cards handle zone logic onboard. When the time comes to integrate MDR into a larger system, the same technology connects cleanly into an Allen-Bradley or Siemens control architecture.
The unit staged in our shop before shipping. Powder-coated frame, ConveyLinx-AI2 mounted center, photoeyes at each zone.
Why we build demos like this
A conversation about MDR will not do the same thing as watching in action. The behavior is intuitive once you see it. Before that, it is easy to underestimate what it can do or overestimate what it takes to run.
We built this unit so our customers have the opportunity to experience the technology. If MDR is the right fit, the demo will show it. If it is not, better to know that before engineering starts.
We powder coat our own conveyor frames in-house, build our own panels in our UL508A certified shop, and program our own systems. The same team that built this demo unit handles the full project when a customer is ready to move forward.
Try it in your facility
Want to see MDR running in your own space?
We can send the demo unit to your facility. Plug it in, run your product on it, and see zero-pressure accumulation for yourself before you commit to anything. If you are ready to talk next steps, we are happy to do that too.
